Perrine Lacour was born about 1727 at Natchez Post (in Mississippi). Her parents were Nicolas de la Cour (Lacour) and Perrine Brette, who were married on Nov. 9, 1726, in New Orleans at St. Louis Cathedral. She was the first of fifteen children. The family moved to Pointe Coupee Parish shortly after an Indian massacre at Natchez, which left one of the Lacour children dead. She married Joseph Roy dit Chatellerou. The date is given as Jan 30, 1744 in the Pointe Coupee Records [(PCP-1, 51 also PCP-2, part 1, 31). Perinne was a native of Natchez, and Joseph Roy was a native of Canada, and widower of Marie Magdelaine LeJeune. Witnesses to the wedding were Pierre Ricard, Pierre Motais, and Jean Rodat.] Their children include, 1)Joseph Roy, II; 2)Jacques (Noel) Roy; 3)Marie Therese Roy born October 18, 1764; and 4)Elizabeth Roy who is the matriarch of the Joseph Frederic dit Leonard line.
Her second marriage was to Francois Marcantel in 1779, a widower of Dame Soileau and a resident of Opelousas, LA.
That is the extent of my knowledge of Perrine. If I learn anymore, I will let you know.
